Bilingual Therapists - Compton/Lynwood Clinic
Summary:
We have an opening at our Compton/Lynwood Clinic for Bilingual Therapists (Spanish/English) who will provide intensive therapeutic services through individual, collateral; group, family, and/or psychotherapy to enable clients reach and maintain proficiency in an identified level(s) of functioning. Needs to be able to work effectively with a range of both clients and staff from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree from a nationally recognized accredited graduate school of social work or marriage and family therapy, plus appropriate field placement. Must be eligible to register with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
.Responsibilities:
- Provide direct clinical, psychosocial, and/or rehabilitative mental health services to Systems of Care families, including identified clients and other family members seen as collateral’s. Includes but is not limited to intake evaluation/assessment, individual, collateral, group, family, psychotherapy or counseling, crisis intervention and emergency intakes, in-home, community services, and/or services at other locations away from the program. Coordination of services and case management, discharge planning, and case consultation with referral sources, school, allied agencies, and others.
- Maintain and complete all clinical and administrative record keeping associated with the delivery of services.
- When waivered, attend weekly individual supervision with primary supervisor and progresses toward California state licensure in a timely manner.
- Understand the mission of the program, the Center, and how their work and position shapes the overall mission of the Center.
- Interact with the community at large and with specific allied agencies, other programs, and funding sources in a manner that facilitates and enhances the operation of the program.
- Serve as case coordinator (fixed point of responsibility). Responsible for initial assessment, coordination plan, service plan, outcome measures (CBCL, WRAT, FACES, etc.); other documentation includes log sheets, progress notes, weekly appointment schedules, weekly action plans for each open case.
- Carry weekend pager for the program once per month.
- Provide a specific amount of direct services with regard to prevailing workload standards.

Summary:
Provide a high level of administrative, technical, and secretarial support to the Director of Clinical Programs, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training by maintaining a high level of professional, service oriented behavior when relating to co-workers, clients, and internal and external callers. Employee must understand and maintain client, employee and program confidentiality. Employee must also be able to exercise a common sense understanding in carrying out directions and instructions, both written and oral, and in handling routine office situations. Employee must be adept at prioritizing multiple demands and projects, working both independently and as a member of multiple project and departmental teams.
Qualifications:
A BA or AA degree in business management preferred with at least two (2) years experience working as an administrative or executive secretary. Possess the ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to prioritize workload, develop and maintain electronic databases forms, and systems, compose correspondence, maintain confidentiality, and work well with others. Good customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent command of the spoken and written English language required. Must be flexible, willing to learn, capable of taking directions and working with multiple levels of management in a culturally diverse, non-profit environment. Good use of discretion/judgment to handle problems. Advanced experience in computer operating systems (Windows) spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), word processing (Microsoft Word), database management (Microsoft Access) required. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Publisher programs a plus. Candidates with comfort and experience with complex web-based software and programs are encouraged.
Responsibilities:
- Compose and/or type correspondence, reports, and other documents as assigned by the Clinical Director, QA Director, and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training.
- Attend and monitor designated trainings, Clinical Programs and/or QA/QI meetings, which may include taking minutes, transcription, and distribution.
- Assist Clinical Director, QA Director, and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training with project management
- Assist Clinical Director, QA Director, and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training with data base management, developing/proofreading newsletters and other correspondence relating to co-workers, government agencies and community representatives.
- Assist QA Director and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training with continuing education criteria and management, training and clinical in-service organization, evaluation, publicizing, monitoring, and support.
- Manage the administrative duties related to Evidence-Based education and trainings for all clinical staff in the agency.
- Assist the Clinical Director, QA Director, and Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training with generating a wide variety of analytical, research, and other reports, including typing, editing, copying and distribution of correspondence as requested.
- Assist QA Director with creation and electronic maintenance of forms and templates in the agency’s electronic clinical record system.
- Assist QA Director with creation, updating, and production of printed training materials, scheduling of QA trainings, and monitoring of attendance.
- Assist Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training program with application, selection, and evaluation process of intern candidates, including managing APPI application portal, communicating professionally with candidates, arranging interviews, maintenance of databases, and follow-up as needed.
- Assist Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training program with on-going administrative support of training program, including generation of evaluations, purchasing training supplies, facilitating orientation, copying of training materials, and maintaining records of current and past predoctoral interns.
- Assist Director of Predoctoral Psychology Training program with collecting, monitoring, storing, cataloging, and destroying psychological testing raw data and records of current and past predoctoral interns.
- Attends and participates in program and Center-wide meetings, including staff meetings, trainings, retreats and conferences on an on-going basis. May be asked to deliver and/or pick up important documents or other materials that must be “hand-carried” to other agencies, schools or individuals in the locations that the Center serves, including downtown Los Angeles.
- Interacts with the community at large with specific allied agencies, other programs and funding sources in a manner that facilitates and enhances the operation of the Center.

Summary:
Identify and conduct outreach activities that support the goals of the Full Service Partnership program and the Center. Provide information about resources in the community to provide support to families. Assist parents/caregivers of the Full Service Partnership (FSP) program in navigating through the complex public systems (DCFS, DMH, Probation and the local schools) that impact their lives. Participate in appropriate community meetings as an advocate for parents in the local community.
Qualifications:
Having been a parent or caregiver of a mentally ill child is required, preferably in the Compton or surrounding area. Ability to identify and collaborate with agencies and resources that can be of assistance to parents struggling with mentally ill children. Must exhibit an understanding of mental health principles. Requires a motivated self-starter with good parenting skills. Must possess a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with a wide range of socio-economic levels. Sensitivity to racial and cultural differences is essential. The ability to read and write fluently in English and Spanish is a plus.
.Responsibilities:
- Analyze and establish relationships with agencies and other resources that can assist the parents/caregivers of children accessing Mental Health Services.
- Provide information about community resources that can offer support to families, as appropriate.
- Ensure that the needs of the parents/caregivers in the community are communicated clearly and effectively to the Program Manager.
- Attend Mental Health Community Meetings, as a representative of parents/caregivers in the community.

Summary:

Performs some administrative and clerical support duties, as well as filling in for other support staff departments as needed. This position includes evening hours, with a M-Th schedule.
Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma with specialized training in communications, office work or related subjects and be computer literate in MS Words and MS Excel. Summary:

California Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker/Marriage and Family Therapy/Psychologist with at least two years post licensure clinical experience, preferably in a mid-size to large non-profit mental health agency. Experience dealing with Medi-Cal, Short-Doyle and other Department of Mental Health programs as well as an awareness of DMH policies and practices preferred. Has demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of both clients and staff from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and familiar with working in the field (i.e., home, school, community). Must be computer literate with regards to word processing, database management, and spreadsheet programs.
