Services :: Skip Hinchman Memorial Symposium

For more than 30 years, Madison “Skip” Hinchman, D.S.W. was a well-known and highly respected professional educator, trainer, clinician, and mentor in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties. He served as Executive Director for The Guidance Center from 1995 until his death in 2000. Named in his honor, the Skip Hinchman Memorial Symposium was established in 2002 to recognize Dr. Hinchman’s commitment to further the education and training of community mental health professionals. Since 2002, the Center has offered this annual continuing education symposium for health and mental health professionals, educators and social service agency personnel. Topics have included Surviving and Thriving: Activating Strengths in African-American Families and The Latino Journey: Adapting Through Transitions.
