The holiday season is fast approaching, but for many of the families we serve, this season can be a challenging time. Our clients often face complex hardships, which can make celebrating the holidays distressing and discouraging. Our Adopt-A-Family program gives members of our community the chance to give back and spread holiday cheer by “adopting” a family for the holidays. The program has officially launched and donors are welcome to sign up now! Whether you have supported this annual program for years or this is your first time learning about it, your generosity will make the holidays special for so many families this year.
Last holiday season, we had 93 families adopted totaling 369 children and caregivers. With your support, we can help even more families this year!
Here’s how the program will work this year in four simple steps:
Step 1: Please fill out the official form here: bit.ly/adoptafamily2022. A member from The Guidance Center’s Development team will contact you to give you the information about your adopted family. This will include a brief story of who the family is and how being adopted will make a difference in their lives this holiday season.
Step 2: Purchase and wrap your gifts. A wish list will be included in the information given to you about your adopted family. You may also wish to purchase gift cards. Have fun, and include your children in the process.
Step 3: Decorate a holiday card. This is where we hope you will get creative and the true holiday spirit will come to life. You can get the whole family involved in creating festive holiday cards for your adopted family. We encourage you to also include a heart-warming message in your card.
Step 4: Deliver your wrapped gifts and holiday card. We are the bright green building located at 1301 Pine Ave. on the corner of Anaheim and Pine. A member of the development team will happily greet you and assist you with your gift.
*Important* To ensure safety for all, we are requiring that you sign up to drop off your gifts on a designated date/time. Sign up information will be shared once you have been matched with a family.
