Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, The Guidance Center raised nearly $60,000 during Long Beach Gives 2025. We surpassed our fundraising goal this year, allowing us to impact more children and families through our new Family Resource Center.
“It’s wonderful to see what’s possible when a community comes together for a shared purpose. Long Beach Gives is a reflection of that hope and collective action.” -Guidance Center staff member
We’re proud to share that Long Beach Gives also recognized The Guidance Center for having one of the highest numbers of unique donors among large participating nonprofits. This is a huge indicator of just how much our community cares about access to preventative care services and basic needs resources.
Community Makes a Difference

Peer Fundraisers: The Heart of Our Campaign
This year, several community-driven individuals and teams took initiative to raise funds, rallying their networks to support The Guidance Center during Long Beach Gives.
Whether they surpassed their goals or inspired just a few friends to give, each peer fundraiser played a vital role in expanding our reach and deepening our impact.
We are especially grateful to those who met or exceeded their fundraising goals. Your dedication means more families will be able to access critical resources and mental health care through our new Family Resource Center.

Thank you to our peer fundraisers for your passion and for reminding us what’s possible when our community comes together for a cause we believe in wholeheartedly.
What Your Gift Will Support
Last year, during Long Beach Gives, we raised funds for construction on the Family Resource Center. We are now close to completion of this part of the project, thanks to Environ Architecture, Inc. and Tyler Construction Services Inc.

Construction is underway for our new Family Resource Center at The Guidance Center, Long Beach.
This year, for Long Beach Gives 2025, our focus shifted from the building process to developing what will happen inside.
The Family Resource Center will serve as a community hub offering:
-
Parenting workshops and support groups
-
Nutrition and wellness classes
-
Access to basic needs resources
-
Referrals to housing and emergency assistance
-
A safe space for community gatherings and fun events
We look forward to opening later this fall and welcoming families into a space where they can gather, grow, and heal. This center was built to support connection, care, and community.
What’s Next for the Family Resource Center
We look forward to sharing more in the coming months, including a first look at the new space, program offerings, and more!
In the meantime, you can continue to support The Guidance Center by sharing our mission, becoming a monthly Hope & Healing donor, or attending an upcoming community event.
Thank you for moving us one step closer to a healthier, more connected Long Beach!
