Some children come to therapy unsure of how to open up. They may be navigating pain that’s hard to name or trauma that has passed through generations. The Guidance Center offers a safe space for their healing to begin and provides their families with the tools to grow more resilient. Clinicians like Rubi Quezada, LCSW, are at the forefront of this work.
As a Clinical Therapist at our Long Beach clinic, Rubi brings compassion and curiosity to every session. She guides individuals and families through life’s challenges, helping them unpack pain that may be carried across generations. Her goal is to support clients on their journey toward greater peace, connection, and emotional safety within themselves and their relationships.
Rubi specializes in intergenerational trauma, attachment wounds, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sexual trauma, and developmental trauma. She is also certified in Brainspotting, a trauma-informed modality that helps clients process deeply held pain that can be difficult to verbalize.
As a Latina clinician, Rubi values the opportunity to work alongside Spanish-speaking families. She fosters a welcoming space where they feel seen, supported, and understood.
Rubi first joined The Guidance Center as a graduate practicum student and has remained a valued part of the team ever since. Her deep commitment to high-need communities reflects her alignment with our mission—and her passion for helping families heal.

Healing That Extends Beyond the Therapy Room
Rubi believes that access to mental health care should not depend on privilege. That belief comes to life through our Family Resource Center, co-located at our Long Beach headquarters. This free space offers families access to basic needs support and community-based resources—alongside clinical care.
Community care and shared healing are part of a larger vision—one rooted in equity, and in the belief that all children and families deserve compassionate support, no matter their background or circumstance.
